Ruby AW12

News just landed that this AW12 collection from RUBY will be released for sale on the 27th of January in NZ so I thought I'd share a collection of my favourite looks. Some of these pieces were shown at last year's NZ Fashion Week and seemed to be extremely popular amongst the media and the public. I personally think this is one of RUBY's best collections to date and will be interested to see these garments fly off racks in a week or so. Check out the full lookbook here.

I also visited RUBY's Pop Up store today which has some incredible discounts on samples and seconds. Check that out too!

A girly gift guide I put together to help with Christmas shopping. It features a cool range of NZ stuff and everything you can get online which makes shopping even easier!

Art print, necklaces and earings from Foxes. Nail polishes from Ruby. Shades from Karen Walker. I <3 Macaroons recipe book and purple satchel from Wocolate. Diana Mini Camera from Lomography AUS/NZ. Happy gift shopping!

Christmas Wishing

So I thought it would be fun to make a Christmas wishlist for the blog with a bit of a fashion focus. It's pretty difficult to pick a small amount of pieces and oddly none of these pieces seem to go together. Presents are one of my  favourite things about Christmas time. I always have to refrain from spending all my money buying everyone a truckload of gifts!
Here's what's on my list:

Auckland Art & Craft Fair 2011

Last Saturday I helped out with the Auckland Art & Craft Fair run by the lovely Kylie & Jess. I had so much fun doing things that barely felt like work (i.e. giving out "I support Handmade" stickers and wrapping gifts) and shopping for little Christmas/Birthday gifts too. The stalls at the fair were pretty amazing, with really unique designs and crafts at super cheap prices. So many people seemed to walk out with at least one arm full of gifts and many seemed to be employing the 'one for them, one for me' policy when it came to the jewellery. The things I bought are either wrapped or have already been given to friends which makes for a not so special photograph but I do want to urge you to check out Jess' online shop Foxes where she sells a collection of her own handmade goodies as well as bits and pieces from a range of AACF artists.

Things

This post is a little overdue but a week or so ago these were lovely new things. My new mocasons and cardigans are getting lots of wear and my notebooks are full of new ideas for paintings & photographs. Loving being on holiday!

crazy creepy beautfiul #2

Ooo yea. Actual snake vertebrae and a deer tooth. Jewellery by Gather. If you want a piece of this or the Lillian Crowe jewellery LaDama stocks pieces from both collections!

Only one week till mid semester break, and then I'm on the fast track to a graduation gown! Would it be inappropriate to rock snake vertebrae and brass spines at graduation? ...

This morning I'm procrastinating with yet another assignment (or two) and waiting patiently for another birthday present to come in the mail. Down here in little NZ online international shopping is booming due to the falling American and UK dollar. It will sting us too in the end but right now we are blissfully reaping the benefits.Need Supply Co. are selling some amazing jewellery under 100bucks. Lots of them are priced around 30 which makes things even better. If only the NZ dollar was so high that I could email Need Supply Co. and order the whole lot of these. A girl can dream.

funkis zanita clogs

Funkis have done it again, a new take on the new take clog! I swear they are one of the only places I've seen that have managed to re-design the clog into something modern and...dare I say it...funky. I adore the styling for the white clogs with the black base. This makes me hopeful for a bold yet comfortable spring/summer to come.

new earings!

Picked up these really cute earings at TinySpace on thursday. The shop is packed with vintage clothes, homewares, design pieces, and jewellery. All original and a decent price. I barely ever buy earings because I'm usually not fussed for what they look like, but couldn't go past these. Definitely a new favourite city shop for me :)
