Won a limited edition Ruby x Rosemount nailpolish which arrived on my doorstep this morning! Thanks Ruby!! The crazy couriers dropped it off early during breakfast which recently has consisted of homemade muesli, strawberries and natural yoghurt...so good! The muesli is just a mix of bran, wholegrain oats, coconut, sunflower seeds, sliced almonds, cinnamon and dried apple. Top it off with natural wildberry and echinacea yoghurt for one of the best breakfasts out :) yum.

PB&J
I'm posting about a sandwich because I can post about a sandwich. They are just as important to me as finding cute shoes online or an amazing bag that I'll never fork out for. I've also recently grown an obsession for healthy food. This is my sandwich of the moment - the healthy PB&J with Soy & Linseed bread, 100% peanut butter, Unsweetened Strawberry Jam and Banana - its delish...try it!

Q Theatre - The new kid on the block
Slideshow v2 (24MB) MP4 from Q theatre on Vimeo.
Q, Auckland from Q theatre on Vimeo.
Yesterday I went to Q Theatre's Open Day and got a tour from the Big Cheese through the rehearsal space, storage rooms, theatre spaces (plural!), green rooms, bar, and cafe. I have been so excited about the opening of this new performance space and it is definitely worth the wait. The architecture (by Cheshire architects) is stunning and I'm not sure that any of the photos/videos do it justice so I urge you to check it out. There is far too much architecture/design speak I could ramble on and rave about.
They also have the most amazing chocolate cake with a berry/cream filling. And better yet they were so eager to please on their open day that when one of the waitors cut a "messy piece" (manager's words not mine) they gave us two instead! The cafe is open at normal cafe hours and is a couple of steps up from Uni so I'm sure I'm about to start a new bad habit. Currently looking at the upcoming shows to book my next theatre visit.

melbourne pit stops
I was in Melbourne not long ago...it was so awesome. I loved the bigger city and am itching to go back so I've been looking over some photos from our visit and thought I'd share two very memorable pit stops.
The first was in Melbourne central mall (which is enormous, clean and very flash compared to NZ standards) where my sister and I used a 2 for one voucher at a place called pancake palace/pancake parlour...can't remember. I'm pretty sure its an aussie franchise and probably the norm for them but we don't really have anything like this in NZ so we had to check it out. I got vanilla and my sister got chocolate. Both were amazing but we couldn't get near finishing them and I have to warn you they are sooooo rich. Seriously. The manager gave us easter eggs on our way out, which totally flicked the switch and I don't think I've ever felt that ill from food in my entire life. You have been warned.

The next pit stop was in Brunswick, an area I could spend forever in. We stopped for coffee & chocolate at a "chocolateria" (perhaps another chain in oz?) where we got spanish mochas and fruit chocolates. I am so pleased to say that this place was delicious and didn't leave me feeling ill. Strangely their spanish mocha is like liquid chocolate (i swear - just melted) but I felt a million times better after having this compared to those pancakes. Odd. Definitely set us up for more vintage, jewellery, art and homewares shopping!
*Different day I swear.

vintage + birthday + yummy sundays
Today a couple of us met for breakfast as Revel Cafe to celebrate a friends birthday. They have really yum and honest food with heaps of vegie & vegan options also. Most of us got the buckwheat pancakes which come with peaches & rhubarb, cream cheese and maple syrup!! I have to admit this was my second visit to Revel this week so I already knew the kind of tea I was going to order. They have a huge range and I'm hoping I get to try each one at some stage, but I went back to their Bora Bora tea (packed with all sorts of fruit & berries) which I had earlier in the week. Aside from the deliciousness the cafe is packed with art and mis-matched crockery which makes for an awesome atmosphere. After breakfast we went browsing through vintage shops picking up a few nice finds and having fun laughing at a few disasters.
